Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 24 July 2026
BookMyGround ("BookMyGround", "we", "us", "our") operates the BookMyGround Customer App, the BookMyGround Owner App, and the BookMyGround Admin Panel (together, the "Platform"), which let customers discover and book sports grounds, pay an advance online, and manage their bookings, and let ground owners list and manage their grounds and tournaments.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to all three apps unless a section says otherwise.
1. Information We Collect
Account details you provide. Name, email address, phone number, and (optionally) date of birth for customers; name, business name, phone number, email, and city for ground owners. Account creation is via email/password or Google Sign-In.
Location. With your permission, the Customer App and Owner App read your device's GPS position — for customers, to show real distance to nearby grounds and power turn-by-turn directions; for owners, to capture a ground's location when listing it. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the apps remain usable without it, only losing distance/directions or location auto-fill.
Camera and photos. The Owner App requests camera/photo access so owners can upload photos of their grounds. Customers do not upload photos.
Booking and payment data. Which ground, date, time slot, and duration you book or list; the total price and the advance amount; and payment confirmation details from our payment partner, Razorpay. We do not collect or store your card, UPI, or bank account details — Razorpay processes and secures that information directly, under its own security standards (PCI-DSS compliant payment processing).
Usage data. Favorites, recently viewed grounds, reviews you write, ratings you give, coupons you apply, and referral activity — tied to your account so they sync across sessions and devices.
Push notification token. A device identifier (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) used to deliver booking updates, reminders, and — at a limited, rate-limited frequency — promotional offers.
Ground and tournament listings (owners only). Ground name, address, coordinates, price, description, operating hours, images, and any tournament details an owner submits. These are reviewed by our admin team before becoming visible to customers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create, confirm, and manage bookings and tournament entries;
- Process payments through Razorpay and compute the correct advance amount;
- Show you relevant grounds, offers, and coupons;
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and account notifications;
- Operate the referral and coupon/wallet programs;
- Let ground owners manage their listings and view their bookings and revenue;
- Review and approve ground/owner/tournament submissions before they go live, to keep listings accurate and safe;
- Investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms & Conditions;
- Maintain and improve the reliability of the Platform.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Sharing of Information
With ground owners. When you complete a booking, the ground owner can see your name and phone number for that specific booking, so they can coordinate your visit. Owners do not see your email address, payment details, or any of your other bookings.
With our admin team. Ground and tournament submissions, and reported reviews, are visible to our internal admin team for approval and moderation purposes.
With service providers. We share the minimum necessary data with the third-party providers listed in Section 4 so they can perform the functions we use them for (e.g. Razorpay receives the amount and your contact details needed to process a payment).
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BookMyGround, our users, or the public.
We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
4. Third-Party Services
The Platform is built on:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging) — for accounts, data storage, backend logic, and push notifications.
- Razorpay — for payment processing (advance payments and tournament entry fees).
- Google Sign-In — as an optional way to create an account and sign in.
Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy in addition to this one.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account, booking, and (for owners) ground/tournament data for as long as your account remains active, so you can view your history and re-book or re-list easily.
If you delete your account, we follow the retention/deletion rules described in our Account Deletion Policy — in short: data that is uniquely yours is deleted; records that a booking counterparty or our own financial ledger depends on (such as a completed booking or a settlement) are anonymized, not deleted, so they remain valid for the other party involved.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Edit your profile at any time from the Profile screen.
- Location and camera permissions can be granted, denied, or revoked at any time from your device's app settings.
- Notifications can be managed from your device's notification settings.
- Delete your account at any time via Profile → Delete Account (see our Account Deletion Policy) — this is self-service and does not require contacting us.
- Access or export your data, or ask questions about this policy, by contacting us using the details in our Contact Us page.
If you are located in India, you have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 to access, correct, and erase your personal data, and to withdraw consent for its processing, subject to the exceptions in that Act. You may exercise these rights using the contact details below.
7. Data Security
We rely on Firebase's and Razorpay's industry-standard security infrastructure (encryption in transit, access-controlled databases, and PCI-DSS compliant payment handling). Access to customer and owner data within our own systems is restricted to what each role (customer, owner, admin) needs to perform its function, enforced through Firestore security rules and server-side checks. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
BookMyGround is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
9. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the contact details of our Grievance Officer are:
Name: [Grievance Officer Name] Email: [grievance@bookmyground.example — replace with a real, monitored address] Address: [Registered Business Address]
We will acknowledge and address grievances in accordance with applicable law.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date. Continued use of the Platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Contact Us
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent through the Help & Support / Contact Support screen in the app, or via the details in our Contact Us page.
This document describes BookMyGround's actual data practices as implemented in the app. It is provided as a production-ready draft and should be reviewed by a qualified lawyer before being published as your final, binding policy.
